In China, Dr. Yu worked as a TCM Doctor and acupuncturist in the Acupuncture & Moxibustion Department in Huzhou Central Hospital (formerly known as the People’s Hospital of Jiaxing District and the 2nd People’s Hospital of Huzhou) and was the director in the Rehabilitation Department from 1983 to 1996. During that period, he collaborated with many departments on clinical trials to develop cross-disciplinary treatment protocols such as with:
As a result of these cross-departmental efforts, Dr. Yu and his colleagues helped patients significantly shorten their recovery time, reduce their medical expenses and, in some cases, avoid surgery.
After leaving China in the end of 1996, Dr. Yu worked as an Acupuncturist in Kuwait for 5 years in a private health care center, which was part of a fitness facility. Here he mainly treated patients with sports related problems, such as muscle and joints injuries, pain, arthritis, frozen shoulders, obesity, prolapsed vertebral discs, and stress, etc.
Dr. Yu came to the United States in the end of 2001. Here he received additional training in the fields of immune system wellness care for HIV and AIDS patients, and cessation and detoxification for drug and alcohol abuse and smoking.
